Dorsal Root Ganglion (DRG) Stimulation
DRG stimulation is a novel neurostimulation technology that modulates the primary sensory neurons within the DRG. The ACCURATE study showed patients receiving DRG stimulation achieved superior and sustainable pain relief and quality of life improvements for focal chronic pain, when compared to traditional SCS. Study findings demonstrated that at 12 months, DRG stimulation reduced pain an average of 81 percent, and provided persistent pain relief to 86 percent of patients.
Statistically greater improvements in overall physical function, general health and social function at 12 months were also seen. In diverse clinical settings around the world, Abbott’s DRG Technology has now been studied in over 920 patients, over seven years and 18 clinical studies.
