New Treatment for Painful Diabetic Neuropathy

Do you suffer from Painful Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy? If so, there is a new treatment that may be able to help.

The outcomes of the SENZA-PDN trial were recently published in JAMA Neurology. In the prospective, randomized controlled trial, the effectiveness of conventional medication management was compared with the effectiveness of conventional medication management plus 10-kHz Spinal Cord Stimulation in patients with painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy. In the conventional medication management group, 85% of patients in the SCS 10-kHz group responded to therapy and reported >50% pain relief whereas in the medication management group only 5% of patients responded to therapy. 72% of the patients in the SCS group also reports significant improvements in neurological function compared with only 6% in the medication management group. Patients in the SCS group also reported significant improvement in quality of life and sleep quality.
